Through our programs and resources, we aim to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential, while also providing educators with the tools and resources they need to create engaging and effective learning environments. We believe that by supporting our local public schools, we can help ensure that every student has the best opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Our core values provide the root system; our partnerships in the community serve as the branches, and the results we see in children. in the communities and classrooms serve as the fruit we will harvest as a community impacting generations in our community.
Our nonprofit is committed to transparency, accountability, engagement and collaboration. We work closely with educators and community partners to identify areas of need, and then develop and implement programs with the resources that meet those needs. We believe in the power of collaboration and are dedicated to building local partnerships that help us achieve our mission.
Our name reflects our philosophy that relates growing a fruit tree and growing a successful youth service organization.
Both fruit trees and service organizations start small and require careful cultivation in order to grow and thrive. In the case of a tree, you might start with a small cutting or sapling and carefully plant it in fertile soil, ensuring it receives adequate sunlight and water. Similarly, a we started with a two dedicated individuals who have a vision for providing a valuable service or addressing a pressing need in their community. They too carefully laid the groundwork for this organization, including creating a mission statement, developing a business plan, and building a team.
Both fruit trees and our organization require ongoing attention and investment in order to grow. With a fruit tree you might need to prune back the plant periodically, train it to grow in a certain direction, and provide support structures as it grows taller. Here we also need to refine our service offerings, expand our team, seek out new partnerships and funding sources, and continually assess and improve our impact.
Both fruit trees and our organization have important milestones along the way that signify progress and success. With a fruit trees, these might include the first blooms, the first fruit, and eventually a full harvest. For us, milestones include reaching a certain number of students served, securing a major grant and donations, and creating awareness for the student needs in the community in a way that invites other people and organizations to step into the need.
Both fruit trees and our organization face challenges and setbacks along the way. Fruit trees may be vulnerable to pests, diseases, or adverse weather conditions that can damage or destroy the plant. We recognize that we may struggle to attract clients, retain staff, or secure funding. In both cases, it's important that we have a plan in place for how to handle these challenges and persevere in the face of adversity.
Finally, both growing fruit trees and our own organization offers unique rewards to those who invest in them. A fruit tree may offer a delicious harvest of fruit that can be used for wine, juice, or cooking. We offer the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a positive difference in the lives of others, and the joy of seeing your hard work and dedication pay off in the form of real-world impact.
We build relationships with people and organizations committed to supporting and inspiring our youth at every level in the community.
We are transparent in our efforts, projects and financials, committed to demonstrating good stewardship for the resources we are provided.
We will create stand alone initiatives and also support other organizations’ initiatives to demonstrate our commitment to children and schools.
Our Board is hands on with all of our projects. We serve alongside volunteers and students in classrooms and see the power and value of community in effecting positive and constructive change in creating a brighter future for students.
